Activists plan to establish Bab Al-Qamar village in Yatta to face settlement

Al-KHALIL, (PIC)– Palestinian and foreign activists on Monday declared their intention to establish a new anti-settlement village named Bab Al-Qamar on the eastern mountain slopes of Yatta town, south of Al-Khalil city.

Rateb Al-Jabour, coordinator of the national committee against the wall and settlement in Yatta, told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the village would be established in order to encounter the expansion of Israel’s settlements and the Judaization activities in this area.

Jabour affirmed that the activists are embarking on making preparations for the establishment of Bab Al-Qamar village in a step similar to the idea of Bab Ashams and Al-Karama villages which had been created lately to confront Israel’s settlement activities.

“The creation of this village falls under the Palestinian popular resistance which the Palestinian people from different spectra and affiliations have participated in, and we will continue this work until the occupation ends its greediness, the building of the apartheid wall and the confiscation of Palestinian lands,” he underscored.
