Several killed as Israel bombs hospital in Gaza

Several Palestinians have been killed and dozens more wounded as Israel targeted Gaza’s central hospital.

Emergency services spokesman, Ashraf al-Qudra, said the third floor of the al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital in Deir al-Balah was hit by Israeli tank fire on Monday.

Palestinian officials say at least five people were killed and dozens wounded in the incident in central Gaza, among them medical staff

A Palestinian television channel showed footage of wounded people being treated after the bombing.

This comes as a hospital in the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip was struck by Israeli artillery shells on Friday.

Senior Palestinian officials have described the attacks as a “brazen violation of international norms.”

Medical workers are now raising the alarm over a humanitarian crisis in Gaza where hospitals are running low on basic medical supplies.

Injured patients in the Gaza Strip are in dire need of medical supplies after Israeli warplanes and tanks bombed several hospitals across the besieged region over the past few days.

This is while Israeli aircraft continue hitting targets across the region while ground forces push ahead with their attacks.

Much to the dismay of international community, reports say that Israel is using white phosphorous bombs, which are considered as banned weapons in civilian areas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defiantly promised to expand the attacks on Gaza as Israeli tanks and warplanes keep pounding the besieged enclave. At least 76 Palestinians have been killed on Monday alone.

This brings to 517 the total death toll from 14 days of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. Over 3,000 Palestinians have been also injured in the offensive.
