GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip caused $200 million worth of damage in the agricultural sector, a ministry official said Thursday.
A Gaza Ministry of Agriculture representative said that the Israeli attacks targeting agricultural land caused “evident damages” throughout the sector in Gaza.
Fayiz al-Sheikh Khalil told Ma’an that the vegetation and soil sectors’ losses were $150 million dollars, while the losses of the livestock and animal production sector were $40 million. The fishing sector damages were estimated at $10 million.
Khalil pointed out that these “are just the direct losses while the indirect losses will cause over $300 million” in losses.
