Israeli forces kidnapped six Palestinians and physically assaulted two teenagers in West Bank districts, on Monday, according to reports by security sources. Also on Monday, seven residential and agricultural structures in the southern Hebron Governorate were demolished.
Israeli forces raided the villages of Beit Ummar and Halhul, to the north of Hebron, where they kidnapped four Palestinians between 17 and 20 years old, after breaking into and ransacking their homes.
They took another 18-year-old Palestinian from Beit Ummar, following a detention at the entrance of Al-‘Arroub refugee camp.
Forces also broke into and ransacked several other homes in Beit Ummar, serving three Palestinians — a father and his two sons, aged 48, 21 and 37 years — with notices to appear before Israeli intelligence, according to WAFA Palestinian News & Info Agency.
In the southern Hebron Governorate, the Israeli army demolished seven residential and agricultural structures in Kherbet al-Rahwa, a small village just adjacent to the town of Dahiriya, according to local sources.
Murad Jabarin, of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, said that a large Israeli army unit, accompanied by heavy machinery and staff from the Israeli Civil Administration, stormed the village and demolished four residential structures, three animal barns, and three water cycles, under the pretext of being ‘built without a permit.’
According to Jabarin: “The occupation destroyed residents’ property in Rahwa and assaulted them during the demolition.” He added that the structures belonged to local residents of the village.
The Israeli army has intensified their demolition of privately-owned Palestinian homes in the Hebron area, during the recent months. Israeli authorities rarely issues construction permits for Palestinians living in Area C of the West Bank, which is under full Israeli civil and military control.
Over 550,000 Israelis currently live in illegal settlements across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
